Generate concepts, graphics, and layouts that adhere to the journal’s standards. Responsible for conceptualizing and coordinating illustrations. Communicate art concepts to editors and assign work to illustrators. Communicate with clinical editors to ensure artwork is appropriate for specific medical scenarios. Contact outside photographers and illustrators to obtain rights to publish artwork, while remaining within budget. Negotiate art contracts and process invoices. Assist with other health journals, including the American Journal of Maternal/Child Nursing, the Journal of Christian Nursing, and Home Healthcare Nurse.
